A social media user recently described his unpleasant experience with Flipkart and vowed never to order from the e-commerce company. Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, user Deity (@gharkakabutar) shared a recent instance where a Flipkart delivery manager lashed out at his father over a delay in communicating the one-time password (OTP) at the time of delivery. In a short post, she revealed that when her father was unable to find the 4-digit code on his phone at the time of delivery, the company’s agent got angry with him and started speaking rudely.
The OTP must typically be given to the delivery manager to ensure that the package does not fall into the wrong hands. In the woman’s case, when her father ordered something and was unable to share the code in time, the delivery agent snapped, saying, “‘Kuch aata nahi hai toh order kyun karte ho!’ (Why order things if you don’t know how to do something!)”.
“Dad ordered something from Flipkart and he was not able to find the otp on his phone so the delivery man got angry with him and said ‘Kuch aata nahi hai toh order kyun karte ho!’” wrote the user. “Never ordering from them again. That’s not how you talk to customers,” she added.

Deity’s post quickly caught Flipkart’s attention. In response to her, the company apologized for the director’s misconduct. “We take such incidents very seriously and are deeply saddened to hear about the director’s misconduct. Please give us a chance to resolve this by sharing your order details via DM to keep your Flipkart account details safe,” Flipkart wrote.

But even after the apology, the X post quickly gathered several angry reactions from users as well. Many called Flipkart’s bad customer policies. “Being rude to the elderly is the worst thing you can do. Customer or no customer one should have basic respect at least,” wrote one user. “Flipkart is doing so much fraud and then not giving you your money back. Such bad customer service. Better to buy from other devices,” commented another.
“People have this mentality of belittling others whenever possible, sad it happened to uncle too,” said a third. “Very sad to hear, never ordered anything from @Flipkart now,” added another.
X-user’s post has garnered more than 67,000 views and hundreds of reactions.
