Former Two And A Half Men star Charlie Sheen was assaulted by a neighbor in Los Angeles, according to police.

A woman was arrested following the incident, which allegedly took place in Sheen’s at home Wednesday around

“Upon contacting the parties involved, deputies identified Charlie Sheen as an assault victim,” police confirmed.

Electra Schrock was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, force likely to cause great bodily harm and residential burglary.

According to showbiz news outlet TMZ, the woman forced her way into his house when he opened the door.

TMZ reports that she tore his shirt and tried to choke him — but Sheen was not taken to the hospital.

US authorities said Ms Schrock will appear in court in Los Angeles on Friday.

A representative for Sheen has been contacted for comment.

At the height of his career, Sheen was reportedly the highest-paid actor on television, earning around £1.2m per episode of Two And A Half Men.

But Sheen was removed from the sitcom after making disparaging comments about the show’s creator, Chuck Lorre, and was replaced by Ashton Kutcher.

Two And A Half Men, which started in 2003 with Sheen as hedonistic bachelor Charlie Harper, continued until 2015, with Kutcher playing a second lead alongside Sheen’s former co-stars Jon Cryer and Angus T Jones.
