England footballer Trent Alexander-Arnold was involved in a crash with another car after a pylon was blown over by Storm Badet’s strong winds.
Cheshire Police said no one was injured in the collision, which came as Storm Babet swept across the country – killing three people and causing widespread flooding and high winds.
A spokesman told Sky News: “At 10.34am we were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a black Range Rover and a BMW,”
“An electric pole had fallen into the road and caused the accident.
“No one was injured and everything was cleared by 1.05pm.
“We called the energy company and had the power turned off.”
Alexander-Arnold, 25, played in today’s Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton, which kicked off at 12.30pm.
