Street food vloggers will leave Indians abroad homesick

One of the biggest downsides of settling abroad is how much you miss Indian cuisine, especially street food. From golgappa, and pav bhaji to vada pav, street food is nothing less than emotions for every foodie. Although you can get it all in some fancy downtown restaurants, they can cost you a fortune. Let’s also accept that it is difficult to find the authentic lip-smacking taste of these delicious items in a foreign country. Now, a video that has taken the internet by storm has hilariously brought this question to light. Before you read on, we want to warn you that you may end up craving these decadent foods. In the clip, a content creator Aryan Kataria is seen tasting street food with the aim of teasing all the friends who have gone abroad to study.

The now-viral video opens with him sitting on the other side of the table with several street food dishes served on a plate. Beginning with pav bhaji, the vlogger is seen taking a big bite of the pav and picking a generous amount of bhaji with it. Of course it immediately landed in his mouth. Honestly, even if you don’t watch this clip, just listening to him eat will make your mouth water. Next, he sprinkles chopped onion on top of the bhaji. After taking another bite of the dish, he can be heard saying: “Udhar bhi pav bhaji milti hai na? $20 (Rs 1600) ki khale.)”

Vada Pav was next on his menu. Aryan takes the vada and keeps it between the buns which have some masala topping on them. He is seen dipping the dish into a bowl full of chutney and taking a big bite. Of course he had to take another bite of it. Next: Samosas. Once again he dipped it into a bowl full of chutney and took a big bite. Oh, the crunch! He said, “Aur bhai quality of life mil gayi udhar? Aur bartan dhoraha hai na acche se?” (Did you find quality of life there? Do you wash the kitchen dishes properly?) As if that was not enough, the vlogger further squeezes lemon on the bhaji and takes a bite saying: ”Jaa Walmart mein nimbu dhundh jaa.” (Find lemon at Walmart.) Well, he saved the showstopper for last. No points for guessing as it was our guilty pleasure pani puri.

He shared the clip with the caption: “Send this video to your friend who has gone abroad to study.” He made his intentions clear in the caption which read: “Video bhej ke jaloux karo.” (Send the video and make them jealous.)

Are you drooling? We have to say, the vlogger was successful in his attempt, as one comment read, “India me hoke craving hogyi bhai.” (I’m in India, but still got the urge.)

One viewer jokingly claimed it was his way of getting revenge for failing the GMAT or IELTS.

Another user wrote: “It’s about a reality check! India really is the best country.”

So far, the video has been played more than 9 million times.
